Container of alcoholic beverages seized at Tripoli Seaport.

Tripoli, June 19, 2025 (LANA) - Members of the Food and Drug Control Center at Tripoli Seaport seized a container of alcoholic beverages en route to the Libyan market.

The agency explained that inspectors from the Food and Drug Control Center, Tripoli Seaport Unit, were able, during their regular inspections at the port, to seize a container containing alcoholic beverages estimated at more than 36,000 500ml cans. The container was imported by a private food import company. The individuals involved were referred to the competent Anti-Corruption Crimes Prosecution Office to take the necessary legal action, and the confiscated goods were referred to the Customs Authority.
