Tripoli, June 17, 2025 (LANA) – The Tourist Police and the Antiquities Authority discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to protect archaeological and tourist sites in Libya, and to develop working mechanisms to ensure the preservation of the national cultural heritage and the preservation of historical tourism components.
This came during a joint meeting held Monday evening in Tripoli, attended by the head of the Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Authority, Major General Al-Senussi Saleh Al-Senussi, the head of the Antiquities Authority, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shakshuki, and the head of the authority's branch in Tripoli.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and the exchange of expertise and capabilities to enhance efforts aimed at protecting archaeological sites from any threats and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
