A parliamentary committee is discussing with the Reconstruction Fund mechanisms for the fair distribution of development projects in Libya.

Tripoli, June 16, 2025 (LANA) – The committee formed pursuant to Resolution No. (1) of 2025 by the House of Representatives held a meeting with the Management Committee of the Libya Development and Recovery Fund to discuss the proposed budget and development plan for the period 2025-2027.

According to House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Blihaq, the meeting included the Fund's Director General, Belqasem Haftar, Projects Director, Hatem Al-Aribi, and members of the parliamentary committee: Saleh Afhimah, Mabrouk Al-Khattabi, Ali Akshir, Idris Omran, Abdulsalam Nasiya, Jaballah Al-Shaibani, Badr Al-Naheeb, Ayman Saif Al-Nasr, Al-Salihin Abdulnabi, and Al-Mahdi Al-Awar.

MP Saleh Afhimah emphasized that the meeting focused primarily on the importance of ensuring the equitable distribution of development projects across Libya's various districts and regions, achieving geographic balance and responding to the actual needs of citizens.

Afhimah explained that the development plan presented by the Fund was discussed in detail, including its allocated budget. He noted that the representatives offered their comments and suggestions regarding project priorities in their regions.

The attendees emphasized that the success of any development plan requires consideration of fair distribution, avoiding centralization or marginalization, to ensure sustainable and comprehensive development throughout the country.
