Tripoli, June 11, 2025 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, during his follow-up on the Tripoli Airport Road Improvement and Development Project, stressed the need to fully complete the work in conjunction with the airport's imminent opening.

According to the "Our Government" platform, the Minister of Transport, the head of the Transportation Projects Implementation Agency, and the head of the executive team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives attended the meeting.

Dabaiba stressed the importance of ensuring the readiness of this vital axis, which represents the southern facade of the capital and is directly linked to the movement of visitors and travelers.

The project includes the development of the road extending from the airport to Bab al-Salam Roundabout, with a length of 23 kilometers and a width of 19 meters, divided into five lanes in each direction.

The project also includes the construction of a service road parallel to the main road, facilitating the movement of service vehicles and enhancing the efficiency of transportation along the route.

The work also includes maintaining damaged sections, repairing cracks, repainting lanes, installing modern traffic signals, implementing an advanced lighting network along the road, improving sidewalks and landscaping, and developing the airport's main entrance.

It's worth noting that the Council of Ministers had previously approved the project as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the capital's entrances and enhance the efficiency of infrastructure, particularly in areas connected to the operation of Tripoli International Airport.
