GEC completes washing operations on the fifth and sixth generating units at Zwitina power plant.

Tripoli, June 11, 2025 (LANA) – The General Electricity Company announced that maintenance teams from the Ajdabiya Ultra-Voltage Line Maintenance Department completed washing the outlets of the fifth and sixth generating units at the Zwitina power plant, located within the Ajdabiya 220 kV transformer station, yesterday, Tuesday. The work was carried out in cooperation with the Ajdabiya National Safety Department.

The company explained, in a post on its official page on Wednesday, that this work comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and stability of the electricity grid, especially with the onset of the summer season, which witnesses a significant increase in demand for electricity.

The company confirmed that these technical measures aim to improve the operational efficiency of the plants and cope with the high loads that increase during the summer peak months.
