Tripoli, June 3, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity called on all business owners, institutions, and individuals to register migrant workers and regularly update their data at police stations.
The ministry explained in a statement on Tuesday that this measure is considered one of the fundamental pillars of preventing legal violations and enhancing community security.
The ministry added that a significant increase in the number of cases related to migrant workers has been observed, particularly those resulting from neglecting to register official data or the lack of valid passports or residencies for some workers. Cases of theft committed by unregistered workers have also been recorded.
The ministry indicated that failure to legally register workers exposes employers to legal accountability and contributes to opening security loopholes that could be exploited to commit violations or crimes. The Ministry also called on all business owners and institutions to ensure that employment contracts are documented and that official data for each worker is updated, including ID, passport, and residency.
In its statement, the Ministry emphasized the need for continued cooperation with police stations and relevant authorities, and to report any cases of illegal or unidentified workers, in order to preserve the security and safety of society and support a stable work environment.
