The Electricity Company announces a power outage in large areas of Tobruk, and maintenance teams are beginning repair work.

Benghazi, May 31, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the government assigned by the House of Representatives announced today, Saturday, that the Al-Khuwair 66 kV power station in Tobruk went out of service due to the fall of medium-voltage (11 kV) wires.

The ministry added in a breaking news report on its official page that another fault occurred in the 30 kV cable linking the Al-Nasr neighborhood station and the Amsaid Road station in the city, causing a power outage across a wide geographical area within Tobruk.

The ministry confirmed that specialized maintenance teams immediately began repair work, in coordination with the control room, to gradually restore power to the affected areas and work to stabilize the electricity grid as quickly as possible.
