Tripoli, 29 May 2025 (Lana) The Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, received the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aganin, at the General Staff headquarters in Tripoli.

The Russian Embassy stated on its official page today that the meeting discussed the work of the Joint Truce Establishment Committee in Tripoli, as well as practical steps aimed at reducing military tension and enhancing stability in the western regions of the country.

It is noteworthy that the Joint Truce Committee was formed in cooperation between the Presidential Council and the UNSMIL, following the security events that took place in Tripoli from May 12 to 14.
