Al-Koni and Al-Lafi reject Daghim's statements and consider them not to represent the position of the Presidential Council as a whole.

Tripoli, May 28, 2025 (LANA) - Presidential Council members Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi said that the repeated statements of Ziad Daghim do not represent the position of the Presidential Council as a whole.
Al-Koni and Al-Lafi's positions were stated in a press statement, a copy of which was received by LANA, regarding what they described as repeated statements attributed to the advisor, designated "For Legislative and Electoral Affairs," which were circulated in the media, suggesting that they express the position of the Presidential Council as a whole. We would like to emphasize the following:
The two deputies in the Presidential Council stated that the advisor appointed as a special advisor to Mohammed Al-Manfi expresses his personal viewpoint in his statements, or the opinion of the individual who sought his assistance. His statements do not in any way represent the position of the Presidential Council as a whole. They expressed their surprise that Daghim would assume a media role that would imply that he speaks on behalf of the Presidential Council, given the presence of an official spokesperson when necessary, and in accordance with the working mechanisms approved by the Council as a whole.
Al-Koni and Al-Lafi considered that what was stated in Daghim's statement, whether in his latest statement or in previous statements, remains a personal opinion unless it is officially approved by the person whose opinion was sought. It is then presented to the Council members in accordance with internal procedures, so that a position or decision can be taken that is attributed to the Presidential Council in its legal capacity.
The two deputies called on all concerned parties to be accurate in the positions and opinions attributed to the Presidential Council, in order to maintain clarity of roles and respect the principle of official representation.
The two deputies of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, concluded the press statement by emphasizing their commitment to the unity of the Council and its positions, and their commitment to expressing opinions in accordance with the procedures agreed upon by its members regarding all matters related to public affairs, ensuring respect for diversity within the Council and preserving its status as a comprehensive sovereign body.
