Tripoli, May 26, 2025 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) reported that Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Stephanie Khoury, met last night with members of the movement from various municipalities in western Libya, including Tripoli (Tripoli Central, Souq al-Juma, al-Nahwi al-Arba'a, Hay al-Andalus), Zawiya, Yafran, Zuwara, Nalut, and Kabao al-Jabal.
The mission stated that those present emphasized the fragility of the security situation in Tripoli, the need to consolidate calm, and called for radical institutional changes to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people.
The mission noted that Khoury provided clarifications regarding the role of the United Nations and our ongoing efforts to consolidate calm, prevent violence, and advance a political process leading to the swift holding of national elections, based on the recommendations of the Advisory Commission.
