The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity denies reports of a storming of the ministry building in Tripoli.

Tripoli, May 26, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity denied on Monday the news of a storming of the ministry's building in Tripoli, contrary to what was reported on Al Arabiya TV regarding the storming of the building.

The Ministry's External Media Department said in a statement, "We categorically deny what was reported on Al Arabiya TV regarding the allegations of a storming of the ministry's building, stressing that this news is baseless and not based on any facts on the ground."

The Department expressed its deep astonishment that an international channel of the stature of Al Arabiya would publish such a serious report without relying on any source, whether official or unofficial, despite having offices and correspondents inside Libya. It considered this a serious violation of journalistic ethics and professional verification standards.

The External Media Department confirmed that the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to carry out its duties normally and regularly, with no incidents or interruptions to workflow recorded within its main building.

The administration called on all media outlets to exercise accuracy and professional responsibility when reporting news related to sovereign institutions, and to avoid spreading rumors or being drawn into unverified information that could incite public opinion and destabilize the country.
