Tripoli, May 26, 2025 (LANA) - The Central Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested a person who blackmailed a number of citizens via social media.
The department stated on Monday that the accused threatened to publish citizens' private information on Facebook and WhatsApp if he was not paid.
The accused also revealed that he had collaborators outside the country who were using fake accounts and international numbers to conceal their identities.
According to the department, legal action was taken against the accused, and the case was referred to the competent prosecution.
