Tripoli, 26 May 2025 (Lana)— UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, underscored the UNSMIL’s commitment to consulting Libyans on a roadmap that would lead to national elections and the formation of one government.

This assertion came during her meeting yesterday with H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, the Minister of State of the State of Qatar, in Doha, to discuss the recent escalation in Tripoli and the way forward on the political process.

“The two stressed the need for peace, stability, and security in Tripoli and across Libya as a general precondition. Tetteh also briefed the minister on the outcomes of the Advisory Committee,” UNSMIL said in a tweet.

Tetteh thanked the minister for the continued support of the State of Qatar to UNSMIL's efforts in Libya.
