Benghazi, May 25, 2025 (LANA) - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, and the Prime Minister-designate of the House, Osama Hamad, received on Sunday, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Belarus, Vadim Ipatov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich, and their accompanying official delegation at the House headquarters in Benghazi.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi al-Nuwairi, the Head of the House of Representatives' Bureau, Abdullah al-Masri, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdulhadi al-Hawij.
The Government Media Office stated that the meeting discussed ways to enhance and activate bilateral cooperation between Libya and Belarus in various vital fields. The focus was on following up on the implementation of the memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides last March in the fields of agriculture, industry, and education, in addition to geological exploration services and the mining industry.
The two sides discussed cooperation in the field of healthcare, including the provision of medicines and medical equipment, as well as the training of doctors and medical personnel, and strengthening Libya's capabilities in this vital sector.
The two sides commended cooperation in the field of natural disaster prevention, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and joint coordination to address environmental and natural challenges that may affect both countries.
