The French Embassy affirms citizens' right to peaceful demonstration

Tripoli, May 23, 2025 (LANA) - The French Embassy in Libya affirmed citizens' right to peaceful demonstrations and the authorities' responsibility to ensure the safety of demonstrators.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the embassy stressed the need to protect civilians, avoid any escalation, and respect the ceasefire by all parties.

Large numbers of demonstrators flocked to Martyrs' Square in Tripoli on Friday, replacing all political bodies in the country.
