Cairo, May 23, 2025 (LANA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, met in Cairo on Thursday with the head of Egyptian General Intelligence, Major General Hassan Rashad, according to Egyptian media.

The Egyptian newspaper Al-Youm Al-Sabea reported that the head of General Intelligence affirmed Egypt's support for a Libyan-Libyan consensual solution, limiting foreign interference, and achieving the aspirations of the Libyan people.

The newspaper quoted Aguila Saleh as emphasizing the depth of Libyan-Egyptian relations and the historical ties between the two brotherly countries. He emphasized Egypt's role in resolving the Libyan crisis and its commitment to achieving stability and bringing the views of the Libyan parties closer together.

According to the newspaper, Saleh expressed the Libyan people's aspiration to advance the political process, which would contribute to stabilizing the situation in Libya. He praised Egypt's achievements in the field of infrastructure and numerous mega projects.
