Tripoli, May 23, 2025 (LANA) – The Air Ambulance Service denied social media reports that it transported quantities of gold and silver through Tripoli International Airport.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Service affirmed that these allegations are completely unfounded and aim to distort the image of a humanitarian and professional agency operating impartially to serve all Libyans without exception.

The Service explained that the aircraft departing the airport were on purely humanitarian missions, transporting those injured and wounded as a result of the recent armed clashes in the country.

The Service added that it is currently working to transport the wounded and injured from various Libyan airports to provide urgent medical care inside or outside the country, in accordance with the highest medical and professional standards.

The Service indicated that it does not follow any political orientation and performs its work professionally and impartially, under the supervision of the competent official authorities. It explained that its primary mission is to save lives and provide emergency medical support, and that it cannot be exploited for any political or commercial purposes.

The agency noted that it serves all Libyans and derives its legitimacy from its humanitarian duty, first and foremost. Any attempt to tarnish its reputation will not deter it from pursuing its noble mission, but rather will strengthen its resolve and determination to continue serving the nation and its citizens, according to the statement.
