Tripoli, May 21, 2025 (LANA) – Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, discussed with António Tete, Angolan Foreign Minister and Chairperson of the African Union Executive Council, the latest developments related to the political process in Libya, the national reconciliation file, and efforts to unify civil and military institutions, in preparation for holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.

This came during a meeting between the two sides on the sidelines of the third ministerial meeting between the African Union and the European Union, held today, Wednesday, in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

According to what was published on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting also addressed Angola's support for the efforts of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity aimed at enhancing security and stability, especially in the capital, Tripoli.
