Tripoli, May 20, 2025 (LANA) - The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Major General Imad al-Tarabulsi, reviewed the latest political and security developments in the country at the Ministry's headquarters on Tuesday with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury.

During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the UN mission were discussed, contributing to supporting stability and achieving security, and advancing dialogue and joint coordination, according to the Interior Ministry's media office.

During the meeting, al-Tarabulsi emphasized the importance of the existing partnership and cooperation with the UN mission, emphasizing the Ministry of Interior's commitment to supporting the security and political process and working within the framework of legal and institutional legitimacy, in a manner that preserves the state's sovereignty and enhances its stability.

He stressed the Ministry of Interior's commitment to the tasks assigned to it in implementing the security arrangements related to the ceasefire, and ensuring security and stability within the capital, Tripoli, in particular, and across all Libyan cities and regions in general.
