Tripoli, May 19, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, met in Tripoli on Monday with the ambassadors of the European Union, Italy, the United Kingdom, Greece, and the Deputy Ambassador of France.

Our Government platform reported that during the meeting, Dabaiba expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positions of these countries in support of the investigations of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, stressing that cooperation with international justice is part of the government's commitment to combating impunity and ensuring accountability for serious crimes committed against citizens.

The platform added that the Prime Minister emphasized that the state's vision is clear and explicit, and is based on ending all armed formations outside the army and police institutions, considering this a basic condition for building a stable civil state governed solely by legitimate institutions.

According to the platform, the meeting addressed the serious violations committed by some of these armed groups, including murder, kidnapping, torture, and extortion, and the need to hold those responsible accountable. The meeting also addressed the dangerous role played by some of these groups in supporting organized crime networks, particularly human trafficking and illegal immigration. Dabaiba emphasized that these activities are now closely linked to some armed groups, which calls for a more resolute international stance in supporting the government's efforts to combat them.

The meeting also discussed issues of joint cooperation between Libya and the European Union, emphasizing the importance of resuming programs supporting stability, institutional development, and combating irregular migration.
