The Central Bank Governor stresses the need to expedite the disbursement of May salaries before Eid Al-Adha.

Tripoli, May 18, 2025 (LANA) – The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) stressed the need to expedite the disbursement of May salaries as soon as they arrive this week, to ensure citizens can meet their needs as Eid al-Adha approaches.

This came during a meeting held by the Governor on Sunday with a number of directors of relevant departments. The meeting discussed mechanisms for accelerating salary disbursement procedures and coordinating efforts with commercial banks and issuance departments in various regions to provide cash liquidity and enhance electronic payment services, making it easier for citizens to receive their financial dues easily and on time.

The Governor also stressed the importance of continuing coordination with correspondents abroad to provide foreign currencies and cover documentary credits to ensure the flow of goods to local markets, as part of the CBL's plan to support financial stability and alleviate the living burdens on citizens during the holiday season.
