Tripoli, May 18, 2025 (LANA) - The committee assigned by the Speaker of the House of Representatives to follow up on developments in the security and humanitarian situation in the capital, Tripoli, held its first meeting yesterday, Saturday, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives branch in Tripoli.

House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Blihaq said, that during the meeting, the committee discussed the latest security and humanitarian developments in the capital, in light of recent developments. It also expressed concern about the possibility of demonstrators being subjected to any attacks.

The committee members agreed to initiate a series of urgent meetings with various stakeholders to discuss the current situation and review possible political solutions.

The committee also decided to conduct field visits to the affected municipalities and explore ways in which the House of Representatives can provide support to these municipalities, within the framework of its national responsibilities, according to Blihaq.
