This came during his meeting with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, on Saturday, according to the Presidential Council's media office.
The European Union Ambassador, in turn, emphasized the EU's commitment to preserving civilian lives, freedom of expression, and the freedom of peaceful demonstration, which the Presidential Council supports.
During the meeting, Orlando conveyed, according to the media office, the European Union's message of support for the Presidential Council's efforts as a unifying umbrella for Libya to maintain stability and unity in the country, in search of a just and effective solution to the current crisis.
The meeting addressed developments in the security and political situation, and mechanisms for ensuring solutions to avoid confrontations that would expose the capital, its residents, and the country's infrastructure to repercussions.
