Tripoli, May 16, 2025 (LANA) – South African President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy for the victims of the recent events in the capital, Tripoli.
This came during a phone call he made Friday evening with the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi. During the call, Ramaphosa expressed his country's solidarity with the Libyan people, affirming South Africa's full support for the efforts of the Chairman of the Presidential Council to consolidate security and stability.
According to the media office of the Presidential Council, during the call, the two sides stressed the importance of unifying positions and strengthening coordination with regional and international organizations, particularly the Security Council and the African Union, to serve the path to political stability and consolidate Libyan national sovereignty.
