The Fatwa House calls for not participating in demonstrations in Tripoli and accuses those calling for them of being suspicious entities.

Tripoli, May 16, 2025 (LANA) – The Libyan Fatwa House called on all citizens to stay home and refrain from participating in the demonstrations it described as suspicious on Friday evening in Tripoli.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Fatwa House warned that anyone who participates in these demonstrations is legally responsible for all the resulting violations of sanctities, attacks on property, and support for the regime.

The Fatwa House said in its statement that those calling for demonstrations are either suspicious groups with a history of establishing torture prisons and detention centers, or coup plotters working to empower Haftar, his military, and his council, so they can do to Tripoli what they did to Ibrahim al-Darsi and others.
