Tripoli, May 16, 2025 (LANA) - The Tripoli Security Directorate called on citizens on Friday not to demonstrate or gather near the conflict zones in the capital, stressing the need to maintain public security and avoid any tensions that could affect the relative stability.

The directorate said in a statement issued early today that "the right to demonstrate is legally guaranteed and can be exercised in areas far from conflict zones, ensuring everyone's safety and sparing the capital any unintended tension at this critical time."

The directorate revealed that it had received information from the Ceasefire Follow-up Committee indicating the possibility of "infiltrators" infiltrating the conflict zones with the aim of inciting strife and creating tensions that could lead to a resurgence of fighting and threaten the existing calm, according to the statement.

The Security Directorate called on citizens to exercise caution and vigilance, especially when present or passing near conflict zones, and to immediately report any unusual movements or behaviors that may indicate suspicious intentions.
