Tripoli, May 15, 2025 (LANA) - The Media Office of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity announced that Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba will deliver an official speech to the Libyan people within days, outlining the details of the Abu Salim operation.

The Media Office explained that the Abu Salim security operation was carried out to eliminate an outlawed group and was conducted in an organized manner to strengthen the regular institutions and end the record of serious violations.

It added that Dbaiba's speech will explain the unfortunate military events that occurred in the capital the day after the operation, which necessitated an immediate response to prevent the security situation from worsening.

The media office confirmed that the Prime Minister decided to postpone this speech to avoid disrupting calm efforts, noting that the upcoming address will present details with complete transparency, in keeping with the public's right to a full and clear account of the facts.
