Tripoli, May 14, 2025 (LANA) - The embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States expressed their deep concern over the recent security escalation in the capital, Tripoli, in a joint statement issued today, following the announcement of the ceasefire agreement.

The five embassies called on the Libyan authorities to take all necessary measures to protect civilians and ensure their safety, stressing that restoring calm immediately is an essential step in the interest of all Libyans.

The signatory countries also welcomed reports that the parties to the conflict have reached a ceasefire agreement, stressing the need for full and unconditional adherence to it to preserve stability and prevent the country from sliding into a new wave of violence.
