Tripoli, May 14, 2025 (LANA) - The Arab Republic of Egypt called on all Libyan parties on Wednesday to prioritize the supreme national interest and end the current military escalation in the capital, Tripoli, warning of the dangers of slipping into open confrontations that threaten stability and the capabilities of the Libyan people.

This came in a statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which expressed its deep concern over the armed clashes taking place in Tripoli, stressing that their continuation portends further tension and threatens the lives of civilians and the capabilities of the Libyan state.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of resorting to reason and dialogue, and of embracing the language of understanding, in order to preserve Libya's unity and the safety of its people.

In a related context, the Ministry urged Egyptian citizens in Libya to exercise the utmost caution and remain in their homes until calm returns, urging them to contact the Egyptian embassy in Tripoli in the event of any emergency.

The Ministry announced the allocation of an emergency phone number (00218914897985) to receive calls from Egyptian citizens in Libya.
