Tripoli, May 14, 2025 (LANA) - The US Embassy in Libya expressed its deep concern over the escalation of violence in residential neighborhoods in the capital, Tripoli, calling for an immediate de-escalation and restoration of calm in the affected areas.

In a statement issued today, the embassy affirmed that it "shares the concern of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) regarding the ongoing fighting in residential areas," stressing that "the protection of civilians must be a top priority for all parties."

In the statement, the US embassy stressed the need for an immediate de-escalation and cessation of violence to avoid further escalation and civilian casualties.
