Orlando: EU calls for a new partnership with Libya.

Tripoli, May 11, 2025 (LANS) – Nicola Orlando, the European Special Envoy to Libya, affirmed that the European Union, 75 years after the Schuman Declaration that paved the way for the European project, remains a "reliable, strong, and resolute harbor of calm" in the face of current geopolitical turmoil.

Orlando, explained, in a tweet on the X platform on Saturday evening, that this historical legacy today inspires the European Union's call for a strategic partnership with Libya, aimed at opening new horizons of peace, stability, and prosperity for the Libyan people throughout the country.

He added that cooperation between Libya and Europe is based on a shared vision for a more secure and advanced future, calling for strengthening the bonds of trust and joint action to achieve the aspirations of the Libyans.
