The Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the African Development Bank, concludes a workshop on enhancing investment opportunities in Libya.

Tripoli, May 10, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Finance of the Government of National Unity, in cooperation with the African Development Bank, organized a workshop in Tripoli entitled: "Investing for Peace and Progress: Leveraging Private Capital to Build a Resilient Libya."

More than 80 participants, including government officials, businessmen, financial institutions, and civil society organizations, participated in the three-day workshop. The workshop discussed ways to promote private investment as a tool for peacebuilding, particularly in the fields of renewable energy, agriculture, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Finance Minister Khaled Al-Mabrouk Abdullah, during his participation in the seminar, affirmed the Government of National Unity's commitment to supporting an attractive investment environment, noting the importance of partnerships with the private sector in achieving economic stability.

For her part, Malinne Blomberg, Deputy Director General for North Africa at the African Development Bank, emphasized in her speech the promising potential of the Libyan economy and the role of the private sector in creating job opportunities and enhancing community confidence.

The workshop was characterized by a practical nature and resulted in a joint action plan that reflects the commitment of all parties, led by the Ministry of Finance, to mobilizing private capital as a means to achieve peace and economic resilience in Libya.

The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participants, including those from the Ministry's offices, such as the Department of Institutions and International Cooperation, the Media Team, and the Women's Support and Empowerment Office.
