Ghadames, May 9, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of 87 illegal immigrants of various African nationalities during combing operations in the desert areas, valleys, and dirt roads leading to the city of Ghadames.
The ministry explained on its Facebook page that desert patrols affiliated with the Ghadames Security Sector of the Border Guard Service continue to conduct comprehensive combing operations as part of efforts to enhance security and combat illegal immigration.
The ministry indicated that humanitarian assistance was provided to the immigrants and they were transported to the sector headquarters, pending their handover to the competent authorities in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
