The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the director of Al-Madar Company and company officials on charges of financial corruption.

Tripoli, May 9, 2025 (LANA) - The Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the General Manager of Al-Madar Telecommunications Company and the company's media, human resources, and procurement department heads on charges of financial corruption.

The Public Prosecutor's Office explained in a statement that the Public Prosecution reviewed the Audit Bureau's reports, which included evidence of the disposition of 3,575,000 dinars in violation of the company's financial regulations in exchange for a two-minute commercial advertisement.

The statement added that investigations revealed that the defendants accepted invoices worth 540,000 dinars, including proof of the purchase of food items to celebrate the company's anniversary. These items included a whole lamb meal, valued at 17,500 dinars.

The statement indicated that the investigator ordered the defendants' pretrial detention pending investigation.
