Tripoli, May 7, 2025 (LANA) – The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, met today, Wednesday, in the capital, Tripoli, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Libya, Güven Begiç.

During the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his sincere congratulations and those of the Turkish leadership to the President of the Council on his auspicious return to the homeland following medical tests abroad. He wished him good health and well-being, emphasizing the strong historical ties between the Libyan and Turkish peoples.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in the political situation in Libya. President Menfi reviewed the Presidential Council's efforts to advance the political process and overcome obstacles to national consensus, leading to a comprehensive breakthrough in the current political scene.

The Turkish Ambassador also reiterated his country's full support for the national efforts led by President Menfi, stressing Ankara's keenness to continue bilateral coordination and cooperation, which will contribute to consolidating security and stability in Libya and preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
