Tripoli, May 7, 2025 (LANA) – The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has unequivocally confirmed that the deadline for accepting and circulating the first and second issues of the fifty-dinar banknote was Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in accordance with what was previously announced and based on official decisions issued by the CBL.

In a statement, the CBL stressed that the rumors circulating about extending the acceptance period for this banknote are baseless, and that its circulation is no longer acceptable at commercial banks. It called on all media outlets and social media users to verify the accuracy and responsibility of information they circulate, and to refrain from spreading false or unreliable news.

The CBL also emphasized that the only source of accurate and official information is the CBL's website and its verified pages on social media platforms.
