Benghazi, 5 May 2025 (Lana)—The House of Representatives' (HoR) Committee for the Verification of Frozen Libyan Assets Abroad announced its rejection of any attempt by Britain or any other country holding frozen Libyan assets to dispose of or seize them, under any pretext or justification, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions.
Committee Chairman Youssef Al-Aqouri emphasized that any action taken by any country regarding frozen Libyan assets would be considered unacceptable and rejected by the Libyan people, as it constitutes an assault on their national resources and a serious violation that will not be tolerated.
"We will be forced to take all necessary measures to ensure the preservation and protection of Libyan assets and to protect them from tampering or exploitation. We look forward to friendly countries holding frozen Libyan assets respecting the decisions of the international community, the provisions of international law, and Security Council resolutions." Al-Aqouri stated.
