Al-Zoubi discusses recent progress in efforts to unify Libya's military institutions with Harris and Norland in Washington.

Tripoli, May 3, 2025 (LANA) – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Brigadier General Abdulsalam Al-Zoubi, met in Washington, DC, with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Harris and Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland.

The US Embassy tweeted on its X account on Saturday that "US diplomats welcomed Brigadier General Al-Zoubi during this meeting, during which they reviewed recent progress in Libyan efforts to unify military institutions, secure borders, and protect national sovereignty."

The embassy added: "The United States will continue to cooperate with officials from western and eastern Libya in support of these Libyan-led efforts."
