Tripoli, May 2, 2025 (LANA) - The Military Prosecutor of the Government of National Unity (GNA) confirmed that the murder of Brigadier General Ali Ramadan al-Rayani was a criminal act and had no political or military nature.

The Military Prosecutor's Office explained that it had conducted an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the murder of Brigadier General Ali Ramadan al-Rayani, who was affiliated with the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, the motives behind the crime, and whether the victim's status as a Libyan Army officer was a motive for committing the crime.

He added that the investigation results showed that this crime was a criminal act and had no political or military nature, contrary to what was reported on social media. This makes the matter the responsibility of the Public Prosecution and the ordinary judiciary.

The Public Prosecution announced that the results of the investigations into the murder of Brigadier General Ali Ramadan al-Rayani revealed that the crime was motivated by robbery.
