Nicola Orlando reiterates the European Union's commitment to supporting Libyan institutions

Tripoli, April 29, 2025 (LANA) - European Union Ambassador Nicola Orlando affirmed the EU's commitment to supporting Libyan national institutions to improve governance and enhance service delivery.

This came in a speech he delivered on Tuesday during a celebration organized by the Ministry of Local Government in cooperation with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) to launch the second phase of the Musanadah program.

Orlando stated that the Musanadah 2 project is part of the European Union's efforts to support decentralization efforts and the Government of National Unity. It also addresses the challenges facing Libya during its transitional phases, especially at a time when local capacities are required to contribute to building a modern state.

He added that this phase will be more responsive to the needs of Libyan institutions, building on lessons learned from previous programs and projects, expressing his hope for greater success in this phase.
