Washington, April 26, 2025 (LANA) - A delegation from the Government of National Unity discussed with the Office of the United States Trade Representative opportunities for cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, renewable energy, health, digital transformation, infrastructure, and digital payments on Saturday.

Our Government platform reported that the meeting, held in Washington, was a continuation of the joint path towards strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries, with the participation of the Trade and Investment Council (TIFA) and the Libyan-American Trade and Investment Council.

The delegation reviewed the government's vision for enhancing the investment environment and providing facilities for American companies operating in Libya.

The American side affirmed its commitment to expanding the scope of the US Customs Preferential Program (GSP) for Libya, which will enhance Libyan exports to the US market, in addition to supporting efforts to improve Libya's ranking on international trade lists.
