Washington, April 23, 2025 (LANA) – Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, attended the meeting of central bank governors, finance ministers, and heads of regional financial institutions in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (MENAP) region, along with Khaled Al-Mabrouk, Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity.

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, chaired the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, held in Washington, D.C., from April 21 to 26.

The Central Bank of Libya explained that the meeting discussed key strategic issues and economic growth in the region, as well as future prospects, in light of the uncertain global economy and the need to implement monetary policies that contain recurring economic shocks, as well as fiscal policy requirements to combat inflation.
