Tripoli, April 23, 2025 (LANA) – Abdullah Al-Lafi, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity and the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army the latest developments on the military scene, as well as the progress of operations and organizational and administrative procedures within the various regular units of the military institution. This reflects the high command's commitment to strengthening discipline and comprehensive readiness.

The Presidential Council's media office reported, that the meeting also discussed plans related to the formation of the joint military force and evaluated the results achieved to date, as part of efforts to unify the military institution and build integrated national capabilities capable of protecting national sovereignty and confronting security challenges with efficiency and professionalism. The meeting emphasized the importance of a balanced geographical distribution of this force to achieve comprehensive security coverage for all regions of the country.

The meeting also addressed the issue of retired military personnel, discussing proposed mechanisms to regulate their administrative and financial status, ensuring the preservation of their acquired rights and in appreciation of the sacrifices and efforts they have made during their service.
