Tripoli - April 22, 2025 (LANA) - The head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Major General Mahmoud Ashour Al-Ajili, received today, Tuesday, in Tripoli, a delegation of senior officials from the criminal investigation and evidence departments of Arab countries. The Ministry of Interior stated that the delegation, visiting Libya as part of the annual visit organized by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, included Brigadier General Dr. Abdulkhaliq Muhammad Al-Salwi, Director General of International Cooperation and Criminal Police; Colonel Dr. Hadi Ali Obaid, Director General of Criminal Investigation in the Republic of Yemen; Lieutenant Colonel Abdulhamid Hassan and Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Khalid Al-Saidi, Director of the Criminal Laboratories Department in the Kingdom of Bahrain; Major Ibrahim Rashid Al-Fahida, Director of the Criminal Laboratories Department in the State of Qatar; and First Lieutenant Yasser Ahmed Al-Karbi, Director of the Criminal Evidence and Information Department in the State of Qatar.
The Ministry explained that an expanded meeting was held in the presence of Major General Noureddine Al-Shaalali, Head of the Arab and International Criminal Police Office, and a number of department directors. During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise between member states were discussed, particularly in the areas of criminal investigations and technical evidence.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation toured a number of specialized departments, including the Criminal Statistics and Information Department, the Weapons and Ballistics System, and the Water Basin. They praised the technical and professional advancements achieved by the agency in the field of forensic laboratories. She noted that at the conclusion of the visit, commemorative shields were exchanged between the two sides, affirming the depth of joint Arab security relations and cooperation.
