A Saudi-Egyptian statement stresses respect for Libya's sovereignty and unity and rejects all forms of interference in its affairs.

Tripoli, April 21, 2025 (LANA) – Saudi Arabia and Egypt reiterated their rejection of all forms of foreign interference in Libya and the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and foreign fighters from Libyan territory.

This came in a joint statement issued by the Follow-up and Political Consultation Committee between the two countries, which met today under the chairmanship of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

The statement stressed the need to respect Libya's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and emphasized the importance of holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections, according to what was published by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website.
