Tripoli, April 17, 2025 (LANA) – The meeting held today, Thursday, by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, and the directors of the relevant departments at the ministry, with the Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Khoury, and the Deputy Special Representative for Humanitarian Affairs, along with the heads of UN international organizations operating in Libya, was devoted to discussing ways to enhance joint cooperation between Libya and the United Nations.

The ministry explained, via its official Facebook page, that the meeting discussed mechanisms to support Libyan efforts in the humanitarian and development fields, and ways to enhance coordination of joint action to ensure the effectiveness of programs provided to citizens.

During the meeting, Al-Baour emphasized the important role played by the United Nations and its organizations in supporting stability and development in Libya, emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to achieve common goals, particularly in providing humanitarian assistance and supporting reconstruction plans.

For their part, the UN representatives expressed their appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with the Libyan side, affirming their readiness to continue supporting efforts aimed at enhancing security and sustainable development in Libya, in a manner that serves national interests.
