Rome, 17 April 2025 (Lana): Director General of the Libyan News Agency (LANA), Ibrahim Al-Majbri, discussed with the Director of the Italian News Agency (ANSA), Stefano D'Alessandri, strengthening media and news cooperation between LANA and ANSA on various professional issues.
This came during Al-Majbri's visit yesterday to the ANSA headquarters in Rome as part of efforts to enhance the role and work of the LANA on the Arab and international scene by strengthening its relations with regional and international agencies by reviving and activating previous agreements concluded with these agencies or concluding new cooperation agreements.
The meeting also focused on discussing mechanisms for renewing and developing the previous cooperation agreement between the two agencies, which will include the exchange of news, enhancing mutual presence on the two agencies' platforms, and training.
Stefano expressed ANSA's readiness to provide all necessary support and technical assistance to LANA, stressing that this agreement will contribute to developing bilateral media cooperation, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and developing training programs on modern technologies.
Al-Majbri stressed the need to renew the cooperation agreement between LANA and ANSA as soon as possible, emphasizing its importance in strengthening the presence of both agencies in local and international events.
It is worth noting that LANA and ANSA are active members of the Association of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN), the coordinating body for media and news cooperation between news agencies on both shores of the Mediterranean.
