Tripoli, April 15, 2025 (LANA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity congratulated the Algerian government and people on winning membership in the African Union Peace and Security Council.

The Ministry said in a statement that this important achievement embodies the confidence of the continent's countries in the pivotal role played by the Algerian Republic in supporting peace and stability and strengthening mechanisms for joint African action.

The Ministry affirmed in its statement that this victory reflects the distinguished diplomatic record that sisterly Algeria has accumulated over years of sincere commitment to just African causes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Libya's pride in this achievement, which serves the overall interests of African action, affirming its commitment to continuing close coordination and cooperation with the sisterly Algerian Republic to serve peace and security issues and enhance solidarity among the peoples of the continent.
