Tripoli, April 9, 2025 (LANA) - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Hannah Tetteh, emphasized the important role Libyan women can play in leading change in the country.

In a speech delivered during the current edition of the "Ra'edat" program, Tetteh said, "Everyone has a role to play in building Libya's future, but young women can be the primary drivers of change and the driving force for making a tangible difference in their communities."

The UN envoy called on the program participants to share the skills and knowledge they have acquired with their surroundings in order to spread the benefits and enhance societal impact.

The program included presentations by young Libyan women, showcasing their achievements after completing a digital training course on excellence in developing media and awareness campaigns, provided by the British government.

It is worth noting that "Ra'edat" is an annual training program for young women from across Libya, aged 18 to 30, implemented under the leadership of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and with support from UN Women, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and UNICEF.
