Benghazi, 8 April 2025 (Lana) Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Abdullah Al-Masry, participated in the meeting of the Association of Secretaries-General of National Parliaments of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (ASIPU), held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
The spokesperson for the Speaker of the HoR, Abdullah Blihaq, said in a press statement today that the meeting discussed current issues and innovations in parliaments, as well as the training and development of parliamentary staff.
“Al-Masry confirmed in his remark that the HoR offers various training opportunities for its employees to enhance their skills and improve their job performance, including orientation and absorption programs, internal and external training programs, and practical training, in addition to partnerships with academic and research institutions based on methodological foundations that reflect the actual training needs of employees, where the HoR has achieved more than 40,000 training hours for its employees and trained more than 700 employees in this regard,” Blihaq said.
Regarding the HoR's support for employees and enabling them to obtain additional academic qualifications, Blihaq explained that supporting postgraduate studies is not merely a policy, but rather a practical commitment to building national competencies capable of leading change.
